i'm not even joking, when i realized we had the top of the order up and locke made the final out in the previous inning, i was over 70% sure that we'd at least tie it

With this team, when they only allowed runs, I was a tad excited because I was excited for the chance at a fun comeback win. Though I was hoping for a dramatic dong. I guess Soler's will do.

He sounded like he said it was Zastrnsyskdsjyklss's big league debut, but I know that isn't right. It was his Wrigley debut though, no?

yes, Wrigley debut but it definitely sounded like Anthony called it his big league debut. Interestingly enough Z was in line to win in his major league debut but that's the game Chapman blew in Colorado.

It would have been so much better if Javy said that, for NSBB meme reasons.

Cubs 1

Tripp Gibson 0

Cubs 8 Gibson 5

More like Trip Gibson 4 or 5.. not sure how many net runs he gave the Pirates.. & Cubs 8..

In his head, Josh Harrison is singing "No Cubs no" and sobbing.

He's probably still salty he was traded for John Grabow or Matt Lawton or whoever the hell he was traded for

So this HAS to be the craziest game of the year so far, right?

Still think Cubs vs Mariners 5-0 come back in the Matusz start was one of the craziest in the last decade. Came roaring back late, Travis Wood pitching twice & the wild catch in LF, Heyward clutch double, tying the game on a wild pitch, winning the game on a walkoff squeeze bunt by Jon friggin Lester.

This is probably the 2nd craziest game of the year though, this is more the game of perseverance through bad luck (weird oppo dongs) while Jorge hits the ball 500 ft but off the wall somehow, getting screwed by the ump tons of times and even in key spots, and the two plays at the plate.

That's a better way of putting it. This game felt crazy, but only because of all the horrendous luck we had to endure.

I haven't read any of the game thread yet but I bet it was a good read.

Despite the trials and tribulations we endured, I kept a cool head the entire time. Totally. c:

Maybe it makes the Pirates feel better that they should have lost 11 to 3 instead?

For someone who wasn't able to follow this one closely, would someone kindly explain what aspect of the umpiring I should be indignant about?
