Marte is hands down the best defensive LF in baseball.

Is that the equivalent to being the fastest C?

If that's not blocking the plate they might as well get rid of that "rule".

What was the alternative? I can't get behind ruling he blocked the plate whether it benefits the Cubs or not.

You're right. Baez just needs to lower the shoulder next time. More effective and with his injury history going head first with that wrist isn't smart.

The call of he game was the missed strike out/throw out. I am really horsefeathering tired. Can we please end this?

They called it for like two weeks and now they never do. It's as if it doesn't exist. I think it should be a rule. But there are times like that, when the ball drifts over that make it impossible to not be in front of the plate. It's just hard to enforce. And it is entirely subjective. And I don't know what to think of it, or what to do about it.

it would be nice if they had stuck to the rulebook like they did the first time javy scored

I know that was a tough inning but you don't need to come out and horsefeathering suck right away, Z man.

it would/will be pretty frustrating to lose in a game where we outhit the pirates so badly, just kept failing with RISP and got boned over by an incompetent umpire. thankfully we're running away with the division.

i'd be [expletive] bricks if this were a playoff game though.

i dont really understand how you lose this game after all that but i guess you do

i hadn't felt this way before but i am fully on "just fast forward me to the playoffs" mode now
