Dumb loss. Let's have less dumb losses in the future.

I think it's impossible to have a dumb loss when you Re basically in garbage time

You railing against me has been quite effective in past months, don't you think?

Obviously the Cubs threw this series so the Dodgers will trade them Puig during the offseason. Obviously

No. Just no

I hold out hope

You're so perplexing.

I wasn't even railing on you this time. Just an observation. Watching these games are like watching spring training games in terms of emotion spent

As is your constantly saying he's perplexing. He's just a guy

Don't really want to play these guys in the playoffs. I fear our offense goes cold in this Grand Canyon of a stadium

These guys suck. The only concern with them is if Kershaw is back, healthy, and pitching well, which seems unlikely. Also, our offense plays well pretty much anywhere. We don't really rely on home runs, anyway. Take them away. The only two guys whose power really matters are Rizzo and Bryant, and they have the power to go deep anywhere. Hitting homers ranks as like Thing #22 that we do well. We are much better at other things, like getting on base, and relying on our pitchers inducing weak contact heading out to our historically great defense.

Christ this is sad.

Heavens forbid this offensive juggernaut has a couple of off games

Ski flat out makes me root for a Cubs loss. He's THAT awful.

It's as if every baseball game he watches is his first.

I can only a take a team so seriously when Joe Blanton is one of their primary late/8th inning relievers who pitches in high leverage spots

Cubs fans are just petrified of the playoffs.. I guess sorta rightfully so with our history. (Granted as discussed before our lack of rings is mostly just for not being in the playoffs for an extended time).

But, I've read posts of every NL playoff team from posters who are afraid of running into them in the playoffs.

Giants - Even year

Dodgers - Kershaw return, 2008 flashbacks

Marlins - 2003

Cardinals - Fear of resetting the balance in the universe for last year

Mets - 1969 and 2015

Nationals - Revenge of Dusty and fear of Daniel Murphy

Pirates - Hmm strangely not concerning.

I keep bringing up my dad because he's the epitome of the terrified Cubs fan. I talked to him today and his takeway from the series is that he's worried because this series reminded him of 2008.

Ugh.
