Fourth time in his last 9 starts that Arrieta only went 5 innings.

Posted earlier He has gone 6 or less in 6 of his last 11 starts. In the 11 before that he went 7 in 10 of them.

As long as he's not injured I think he will figure it out again, and I mean 5 innings of 0 or 1 ER is still pretty impressive.

Yes, hopefully he figures out his command because I don't like the Rich Harden version of Arrieta.

Damn that is a near perfect comp, bravo.

as much as i love the fame and glory of the ASG, would much rather prefer Arrieta rest over the break.

can we plunk them now?

I second the plunking...yes, I'm a Neanderthal...or just really dislike the Cards and Matheny

So you want to throw a really hard object, at a really high speed at guys that could potentially injure them (and lead to our players be injured or suspended) just because, feelings? Cool thinking

head to head sweeps are pretty much the only way st. louis could realistically get back in the division race, so that's fun

At 9.5 back, they still won't be back in the division race, really.

Also this will likely continue the trend of the Cubs losing the last game of every homestand this season. The only reason I notice is because they always have their road trip theme planned, and then everyone on twitter flips out that they are having fun after a loss.

Do you really think they'll get another one?

I'm praying the addition of Warren to the rotation is to somehow ensure Jake pitches the Sunday before the ASB and therefore can't pitch in the game.

If you assume Warren's first start is the make up game vs the Braves, Jake pitches the Friday before the ASB.

Hey Dave. It seems like the forum has much less participation. The Cubs are winning like a mother...what gives?

Matheny went at Bryant's head on Monday just because Lackey dared pitch inside and clip Moss on the elbow guard. I shudder to think what those assholes would do if we actually did intentionally hit someone.

Thanks for the compliment! =D>

I'm still pissed about Bryant getting beaned on Monday night. But probably not a good idea to give Matheny last laugh with Cubs batting last
