why the [expletive] wouldn't you just send him and force them to make a play?

now we have to get another 2 out hit

no way in hell would he have scored

Oh man. Was really hoping he would have been sent. Probably a 20% chance of scoring but that's about monteros odds of getting on base

Whoops ross against a righty even worse

i'm not sure the odds of a bad throw were much worse than 23% or whatever (yeah that ignores the walk possibility yadda yadda)

you just gamble on him or the catcher making a bad play rather than count on david ross to get a hit

It's a sign of how spoiled we are that I'm irked that we're suddenly back down to an 8.5 game lead, assuming Pittsburgh hangs on tonight.

I've quoted myself pointing out how stupid I am for thinking this, so you don't have to, Sammy.

Did LaStella get hurt on that last play that Wood pinch ran for him? Or why else would Joe make that move? Wood, would have had to play LF in the 9th if we tied or took the lead.

No way in hell is ZOBRIST scoring from first on a SINGLE.

Well he was running on the pitch so there was at least some small chance plus the hit had a lot of hang time

for a team that scores tons of runs, we have been pretty boring in games where we trail late. not a lot of exciting moments so far. the only "holy horsefeathers" moment I can think of so far is that russell home run.

yup

force the throw and hope it goes errant or the catcher mishandles it or something. better than counting on those guys to drive him in with 2 outs.

mostly because we don't trail late often

The Travis Wood game in Milwaukee was pretty cool

well obviously, but still. I want more sweet magical moments that I can watch over and over.

We also have to factor in Gary Jones made the decision to hold him, so sending him almost certainly was the right choice.

Nah its cool, so am I. I demand a double digit division lead from here on out, IMO
