That's a pretty weird analogy, but I'm neither agreeing nor disagreeing with you.

It's a coach who went from one team to another under what was perceived by many as controversial circumstances and ultimately it didn't turn out to be much of a story despite getting a decent amount of attention while it went down and shortly afterwards. Why would Thibs getting fired and being hired by Minnesota be so much more scandalous or so much more of a story? The point is that it's ultimately not that big a deal, and odds are, outside of the local press for the teams and fans involved, it's not going to mean much of anything to everyone else.

I feel like we aren't even talking about anything.

I was responding to SpongeWorthy about Thibs. Nobody forced you to jump in if you had nothing to add.

Oh sorry I thought it was my post that you quoted. Pardon my confusion.

So, on to more important issues (and I apologize if this has been mentioned. I'm not sifting through several pages of arguments about nothing): Do we have a new Benny yet?

The rep thing is definitely still there. You had Mike calling Wade and ask if he's sure he wanted to come to Chicago.

What's the source for this? Genuinely curious.

Yeah, I didn't find anything about that when he mentioned it.

I thought that story was out there in 2010, not this time, but I could be wrong

Regardless, whatever you think the perception might be, Chicago, while maybe not hitting Homeruns in FA, consistently has hit doubles the past decade. And very few teams have hit homeruns (speaking from a pure perception sense). If there was any question that the relationship with Thibs would negatively effect that, this is an indication that probably isn't the case and Chicago is still an attractive destination for Free Agents when they can create space.

Does that mean we should be expecting Westbrook or Griffin in 2017? No, but we can probably expect a relatively major piece and if we can win some games this year, we may even be a discount friendly option for vets, as we were as recently as Gasol and MDJ.

I'm confused as hell as to what davell is talking about in 2016 or 2010.

there was some story out there that jordan called up wade when he was rumored to be going to the bulls and told him he shouldn't go there/asked him if he was sure he wanted to or something along those lines.

Back in 2010? That's funny as hell, because then he was talking horsefeathers about not needing to call Magic or Bird back in his day.

Classic dick-move Jordan.

It was somewhere on RealGM. Pretty sure it was hours prior to him signing here. Wasn't about 2010. Can't find it in all the damn Wade stuff over there currently. Fairly sure it had its own thread but got merged in with one of the others.

Well, it seemingly never made it into the wild; I've tried a ton of different Google searches that should bring up something, so it seems like BS.

anyone know what the hell that ferris wheel is from that can be seen in the background in the picture where they're digging the foundation?

I would have guessed it was just some sort of portable carnival type thing that was taking advantage of the open unused space.
