I'd like to see Maddon try to jumpstart Soler and Heyward by moving Soler to 2nd in the order and Heyward 6th behind Zobrist.

Didn't he try hitting soler 2nd like a week ago and he failed miserably? Not saying we can't do it again just that I think maddon has already tried that.

Obviously I don't know what is causing Soler to struggle right now, but I find it hard to believe he has completely lost his ability to hit at least as well as last year. Whenever they figure out what adjustments are going to work for him, I still think he's going to be good... at least I hope good enough to draw some interest in a trade if nothing else.

Well, he lost it for most of last year, too.

I mean he kinda has made adjustments, his peripherals have improved this year; 3% increase in BB rate and 8% decrease in K rate and even with the eye test he appears to be having more consistent/patient approaches. He also has a .200 BABIP. So he's basically made all the correct adjustments approach wise to become a competent major league hitter he just hasn't had the change result to hitting for average/power which may be part luck and may still be part of developing by doing more with balls that are in the zone.

Its fairly easy to question that lineup its missing our 2 hottest hitters, one of which is a very young and I'm sure fairly capable of playing 2 games in a day before a day off. Zobrist maybe I can understand. Addison not playing makes very little sense.

You can maybe see them resting a 35-year-old middle infielder who had a knee surgery last year, in the nightcap of a doubleheader, when we are 25-7 and 8 games up on the division? Maybe?

My point was that just about any other team in the league would give anything for that lineup, but here we are finding ways to be unhappy.

I question Soler and his -.7 WAR being in any lineup. He has been BABIP unlucky though.

If you're suggesting that we just banish him to the bench, that doesn't seem very logical. We have to either play him, or trade him to a team that can play him. That's all there is to it.

well, those really aren't the only 2 options...
