This is strange but I read something today about how a potential reason Bryant's K rate has gone down is that he's focusing on lowering his launch angle, meaning less of an upper cut swing. I wonder if this is a team wide concept they focused on in the spring. I'm not sure if team wide Ks are down but the Cubs offense has been [expletive] awesome despite being middle of the pack in dongs.

You post as much as you do here and you first read about that today?

He's been working on that/doing that since last August

they're averaging 1.5 less Ks per game

Do we need Grimm in a five run game?

Well we already burned through Cahill and Richard so we're running out of our not Top Of The Line relievers. I suppose you could put Wood here, but someone's gonna have to pitch the 9th too.

However many less it is, they're like third lowest in the league rather than highest, iirc

For those of you scoring at home, that's 12 total bases and 5 RBIs from guys called up since opening day 2015.

These idiots are just determined to make this a non run differential game, aren't they?

I think they just like to have baserunners to give themselves a challenge with such large leads all the time.

Maybe they're in on it too to horsefeathers around with Rondon

What's happened in this game is like 4 ground balls that are usually outs have squeaked through and became basehits (mirroring something we talked about before about the Cubs likely unsustainable .251 BABIP against) and still

Still this team is up by 5 runs so its whatever
