This is the least favorable match up for the Cubs during this series so if they can pull this one out my minds on a sweeeeep.

If Hammel can keep his homerless streak going I like our chances.

Whoa, it was my turn already? I figured I wouldn't get to go until, like, June.

Win, lose, or rain... be ready to go tomorrow.

Thanx.

No problem!

Sitting Heyward against a righty with a lefty pitching tomorrow is a curious decision.

Maybe Maddon is giving him 2 mental days off but it doesn't make sense to sit our best fielder 2 days in a row.

Exactly. I don't really care if he goes 0-for-4. I'd like his defense to be out there in Pittsburgh if possible. But Maddon is the man. Dude usually knows what he's doing.

i'd like to hear the rationale for playing Szczur in RF but Bryant in LF; with PNC dimensions it'd seem preferable to flip the two

because Bryant is accustomed to the angle the ball is hit to the left side of the field, given that he played 3B, dude.

Weather is looking rough. Another rainout would suck so much ass. And it's not going to get any better all week.

Hmmm from what I see it doesn't look that bad. At least not bad enough for the game to be rained out entirely. Perhaps delays.

Tuesday doesn't have any major rain in the forecast according to Accuweather and Wednesday it does say 'a couple of showers and thunderstorms'. But its a 12:35 local start for that one, with the Cubs having a night game the next day and the Pirates off so they could withstand some delays.

From what I see outside my window (which looks at the stadium), it looks like there may be a delay to start, but it looks like most should pass by gametime, but the delay may be getting the field ready.
