What's the story behind the joke about the league needing step in to stop the Cubs from walking so much?

 

As I know some of you have seen, a few of the guys over at GRB are a little bent out of shape about how much the Cubs are walking so far this year:

 

Now if MLB wants to fix something, it's a rule to get the bats off of these guys shoulders. That is effective, but it is not fun to watch.

 

I seriously doubt the umpires will let this go on for the entire season

 

i think a start would be to brush rizzo off the [expletive] plate.

 

I would knock that mother [expletive] down in a heartbeat. He is absolutely on top of the plate.

 

You know, without a shadow of a doubt, that if it were the Cards walking at a record setting pace, Cards fans would be falling all over themselves to effusively praise them for their superior plate discipline.

if pitcher feel like rizzo is crowding the plate, they're welcome to jam him inside or try to exploit the inside corner.

 

seriously, what a bunch of sour grapes.

 

that's what they said...that he needs to get hit more. guess they missed where he led the league in HBP last year (and TT pointed out that he is actually really good on teh inside part of the plate soooo)

i don't want any late season cruise mode (unless it's a god mode cruise mode). i want the cubs to finally deliver on zambrano's win prediction.

The Dbacks have an early lead on LA, if that holds, Cubs opponents this year will be 13-5 in games not against the Cubs.

 

I saw this on GRB a day or two ago, and am filing it away:

 

They haven't played a good team yet. Can't wait to smack them around next week

 

A little puffed up after sweeping the worst team in baseball.
