The Score is gonna play the Reds broadcast call of the Russell homer shortly, if anyone is interested.

After XZero mentioned it last night I rewatched that and the last couple outs. Some great great Thomenfreude there, after he flatly says there's been a home run, he goes silent until after the next at bat is underway. Same thing with Rondon's 2nd strikeout, didn't actually say the hitter struck out, and didn't talk again until after Strike 1 on the pinch hitter.

Hawk Brennaman.

did they play it yet?

Edit: nevermind I heard it. That was as monotone of a call as you will ever hear.

Yeah, that call was great.

I'm torn. I absolutely loved him playing it tonight. And part of me thinks it would be cool to hear it once per game, as a nod to Starlin, and because it is awesome. But, part of me says we need to move on from the past to other fun and exciting new things. Eh, [expletive] it, play it very game.

Did Rizzo use a different walk up song each time he batted tonight like he did last year? I'd love it if he used it once per game.

he did. i don't remember if he repeated any, but there were like 3-4 diff ones.

He used Starlin's again for his 2nd AB, and it changed on his 3rd one (to a song I'd never heard)

Is he still Taylor Swifting?

Don't think there was any Taylor Swift last night, but he did bring this one back

skip to like 27 seconds for the part they play

This is my favorite of Rizzo's.

there was a hilarious graphic up on the video board that said something along the lines of (correct me if i'm wrong, i was pretty drunk last night) "we asked the cubs players who among them eats the most ice cream..." this was after they showed diff players favorite ice cream flavors

anyway, so they showed like 3 players first, and they all had a couple votes each...one might've been bryant, another russell and maybe schwarb? last one they showed was rizzo with like 18 votes or something.

Grill the Players was the best video gag last season and I loved that one last night. They also had a pretty funny video about how the players save water (e.g., Schwarber only drinks milk to hydrate, etc.).
