Cubs took care of business against Greinke on Saturday and returned to their winning ways.

In this one, they face Shelby Miller, a pitcher they scored 8 runs against on 10 hits and 8 walks in two outings last year. This game will be a rematch of the last year's first meeting, a game in which Jake went 7 scoreless and the Cubs did enough against Miller in a 3-1 win.

Two straight series wins to start the year would be quite nice. Get it done, Cubs.

Soler kills him. Hopefully that continues.

Trying really hard to not get giddy. This team is really good.

We were all giddy (read: rock hard) when Heyward signed. Probably earlier.

This team is really good no doubt but I'm still hurting a bit from the injury to be considered giddy. I will get there in due time though.

our lineup just makes me shake my head and laugh to myself, but Schwarber being out makes me really sad. We didn't even get one glorious Schwarber dong this year and I feel kind of heartbroken at that prospect.

On a completely random note, every time I read UMFan's name I read it as UMF-fan and have to think about what the hell UMF is. I do a similar thing with the program CCleaner and call it CC-cleaner, so maybe its just me. Just figured I'd share that with you all.

I'm anxious to see Heyward in center. This day was supposed to be more fun: Slide Heyward over to center, so we can see our glorious, 240-pound, fleet-footed center fielder, and let Jorge get a whack at a few balls. Rat Boy puts a damper on things. Well, actually, Jorge already being in the lineup puts a damper on things. The hard truth of the matter is that Rat Boy very well could be a better baseball player than Jorge -- and that's only meant to be somewhat of a knock on Jorge.

Regardless, I want to dong today. There have been far too few dongs the last couple days. Or we could just walk them into oblivion again. That's been fun. Maybe we can just do both, though.

I will become a La Stella fan if he makes his walk-up music "Kiss from a Rose."

Can someone explain this joke?

It is in reference to this great joke from a previous game thread:

La Stella looks like a giant seal trying to disguise itself as a human boy.
