Rondon's slider has been nasty lately. He got more whiffs/swing than any pitcher in the league on sliders in July:

Hitters slugged .063 against his slider in July.

So those numbers are above and below league average or something? Is that how you get negative marks in movement?

No. That's in inches, but not factoring in gravity.

Interestingly, Hector has been increasing in velocity and movement. He fluctuates back and forth. More speed; less movement. Also he'll have his vertical and horizontal movement flip-flip some from time to time. So it will act as more like a curveball and drop more sometimes. And other times it will be more side-to-side and break further.

But, right now, he's getting the same movement he has when it's about 85, except it's at 87.

Also, Hector's fastball velocity keeps going up. It was about 96 on average for most of the season. And then in mid-June it started creeping up and he averaged about 97 until mid-July. And since mid-July, he's averaging 98.

He also hasn't given up a homer since June 14, right around when it started going up.

I see. Thanks for the explanation.

Off topic question, but how do you keep accidentally submitting posts as Anonymous?

I had no idea I was

Ok.

We get approval requests when someone tries to post anonymously...and it seems like it happens reasonably often that there will be a request, with a post, and then right afterwards is you posting something exactly the same or extremely similar, so I thought maybe you were doing something accidentally and then correcting it.

Is this a Tapatalk issue possibly then?

for some reason i remember something like this being an issue with tapatalk before. could be wrong, though.

It's so much easier to browse multiple forums quickly on mobile though

I never found that to be true before I deleted it, but we've quickly learned here that it causes more issues than it solves problems

Tapatalk used to be better than the mobile site, but the latter has gotten better since the relaunch and phones are getting better. The site is a far better experience now.

Found a link that said maybe it had to do with the push notification settings so I turned those off. I hope it helped. Not trying to be a problem.

Really, was just more of a nuisance than a problem. I just didn't realize what the issue was, or that you didn't know it was happening.

Was just looking at DRS on Fangraphs...Zobrist has 5 DRS in less innings than Javy at 2B (4 DRS) and Javy is -1 DRS at both SS and 3B. Has he really been that bad in the field this year?

Sorry "bad" relative to expectations considering last year we were laughing about how far in 1st he was in DRS at 2B without enough innings to qualify
