Kind of seems like his plan to overwhelm Augusta may not work that well.

Yeah he hit to a lot of horsefeathers today and his approach/irons and putting are horsefeathers. He miss hit a ton of approach shots by 5-10+ yards, which for these guys is enormous. Not having the green books I think greatly affects him since he’s such an information and not a feel guy. He’s still too talented and a hard worker that he likely wins a Masters at some point but think it’s a few years away.

I think he's 6 under par since you've said this.

The conditions softening up definitely helped him today and would assume he went and got in the lab last night to figure out all the miss hits with the yardage.

Is there a rule that you can’t grab another putter? If so, can he bring a new putter tomorrow?

You can only use what you started the round with.

He will have a new putter tomorrow.

Range this morning. First time I've touched a club in four months. I have forgotten everything I was trying to learn. I'm wearing jeans and hiking boots, no glove. No swing thoughts whatsoever, just step up and hit.

And I'm absolutely bombing. Literal first swing was a dead straight 225 yard carry with driver, and this is with the less distance air balls for the water range.

7-iron? 30 yards farther than I've ever hit it

That stupid 3 wood that I can never hit cleanly? Drilling it

Sports are so dumb. I know if I try to carry this over to a round it will disappear

Played a couple weeks ago, first time since December and after tearing/repairing my meniscus in January. Came back much quicker than I thought on the range, but much different story on the course. Lot easier when every shot is a flat lie and you only have 10 seconds between shots.

Not to trash your range session, it's a great feeling. But I let that overconfidence carry into the round and then was pissed I played as terrible as I usually do, instead of being happy to more or less match my normal performance after an injury and 4 months off.

Oh for sure. I won't even be able to do this on the range again probably. It's like lucid dreaming or being a cartoon character running off a cliff. The moment you start to think about it, it's over.

Eventually I'm going to be like "Hmm, that shot was a little pulled, I should adjust my swing path" and next thing you know the swing thoughts will come flooding back and it's gone.

Cleared the 250 sign at the range today on the fly for the first time ever.

I should really take this to a course soon...

maybe you can teach me . . . I cannot hit my driver at all these days. on the plus side, every other club is going great!

NCAA did it again. What a crock of horsefeathers they did to the women's regional championship! I feel so bad for these seniors who were there. I don't know how you can just end their season like that. Just pisses me off.

So Jon Rahm was well on his way to winning the Memorial, with a record setting lead after 3 days, and then tested positive for Covid twice and had to withdraw after his round today. As an aside, this also topedoed my draftkings lineup that was in the top 100. Sad panda.

He got the first vaccine dose this week only after he was in the covid protocol due to contact tracing. Too late. If Rahm had received the second dose weeks ago and still tested positive without symptoms, would he still be forced to WD? If a MLB player that is fully vaccinated gets covid without symptoms, do they still have to sit out?

I don't think they get tested if they are vaccinated - or at least not daily. This makes me like Rahm a little better.

What they left out of that article was that Rahm was informed that one of his close contacts tested positive and THEN got vaccinated. It wasn't until he realized that he could actually miss tournaments (or get tested a lot) because he wasn't vaccinated that he got around to it. He does say that he "honestly wasn't thinking about it" which was clearly true.

Whatever, his punishment more than fit the crime, I suppose.
