Feels strangely good to see this horsefeathers win

I hope he can catch Nicklaus because I really can't stand that guy. Jack has been saying that he's "pulling for Tiger to beat his record" because he no longer believed there was any chance he'd actually do it. I still doubt he can actually do it. It would be really hard for him to win the US or British Open and the field is a lot better than it was during Tiger's heyday.

I started my first season as JV golf coach. Can't beat free golf. I actually get paid well enough to buy a new set of irons at the end of the season. Walking 9 holes 3 times a week carrying my bag hasn't been great for my back though. I should probably use a pull cart but the pain of that humiliation might actually be worse.

That’s awesome, I have a few buddies who coach various HS teams for the same reason to get cheap/free golf and a nice side paycheck. I’ve been playing probably 2-3 rounds a week and hitting the range for a good hour another 2-3 times a week this year. I’ve been dealing with some back problems and I definitely think it’s from carrying my bag too often for rounds, especially my league rounds. I go to the chiropractor every other week and he definitely yells at me about it and says he can tell there’s issues from too much repetitive movement and carrying a bag. I really should get a push cart but my vanity won’t allow it.

....... hasn't been great for my back though...

have you tried the Moe Norman single plane swing? I know someone who swears by it

My swing isn't the problem. Well, not the problem with my back. It's carrying my bag. It's weird because the bag doesn't feel heavy at all when I'm carrying it but the center of my back starts to hurt on the way home.

Try the 19th hole and call a cab!

Tiger picking up his 82nd title tonight to tie the all-time record. Pretty damn cool.

Yeah. Amazing he’s back to being one of the better golfers again after where he was physically/mentally/emotionally and also because he’s 40 something and there’s so much good young talent in golf right now. I stayed up last Sunday to watch the 4-man skin match that him, Rory, Matsuyama and Day did. That was cool and he was mic’d up for it. Wish they would do more stuff like that on practice round days leading up to tournaments.

Amazing seeing him change his game too. He can't quite bomb it with the main guys now, so he just decided to hit fairways and become pretty much the best iron player in the game.

There is a fairly long list of better irons players than Tiger, but most of those don't have a short game like his.

Tiger's iron game, especially his long iron game, is the best in history. If the PGA Tour had strokes gained approach before 2006, he'd be first pretty much every year of his career.

Ok, but last year he was behind Stenson, JT, Grillo, Scott, Hideki, Kokrak, Furyk, Casey, Conners and Cantlay. Right there with Brooks and Rory. Stenson's SG approach are particularly bonkers, and have been for a good while...for many of the seasons Tiger was ouched.

So, all the courses that were "Tiger proofed" by making them narrower should now play more to Tiger's strength.

I was looking for articles about practice strategies for my golf team kids and ran across an interview where Tiger was saying that he was practicing smarter these days meaning that he has more of a purpose to what he does on the range instead of just spending 10 hours a day beating balls. It's a good tip for anyone that hits the ball great at the range but can't seem to bring that to the course. Especially since hitting balls on the range 10 hours a day is not an option for most people.

This is pretty good.

Somehow I lost my 5 iron. Anyone know a place to replace one club? I've been looking and so far haven't seen anything except a Chinese version. I'm debating just getting a "new" set of irons.
