What a tournament. Can’t wait for next week’s Ryder Cup. Jack’s major record could definitely fall now. And yes the field collapsed around Tiger like they did in the past. Now 13/13 with a three stroke or more lead headed into the final round.

So awesome to see, great to have competitive and winning Tiger on the tour with all the other awesome and younger guys. Ryder Cup should be a ton of fun next week, the US should kick their ass.

The love fest was a bit much.

Why can't we give negative hearts?

“Most improbable comeback in the history of sports.”

That was said multiple times in the telecast. C’mon. He’s a great player that had to overcome a lot of adversity (some self induced). And it’s very good for golf ratings and anyone associated with televising golf. But I think it was a bit much. Unlike/unheart all you want.

He had to come back from back, neck and knee/leg problems and surgeries at 43 years old when golf is as young, deep and talented as it’s ever been. It’s pretty improbable to come back from that and compete at the level he has been for a good portion of the year and now finally winning one.

Lots of adversity - yes.

Most improbable in the history of sports. Not so certain.

I would venture to say there were lots of experts, fans, etc. that expected him to win another tournament.

I mean we can argue most improbable or not, there’s no way to truly measure it, but it’s damn near the top of the list for me. He wasn’t physically able to even live a normal life, let alone play golf for good chunks of the last 3-4 years and had to have multiple surgeries. He came back to be at the top of the sport at the age of 42/43 this year (an age most guys stop being good or at least consistently good) when the sport is as strong and deep as it has ever been talent wise.

Not sure you understand what back injuries can do to you for golf. It's worse than TJS for pitchers by a mile if you want a comparison. That fusion surgery he had last year wasn't just a last resort for him playing golf, but to actually let him have a healthy life and not be in pain 24/7. Not only that, it was what.. his 4th back surgery in the past 3 years? Nevermind the ACL and Achilles injuries before the back issues. Maybe the "improbable comeback in the history of sports" is a bit much to you, but it's damn near the top. Not sure what would actually top it easily. He's also in his early 40s where PGA players tend to decline or fall off completely. It's definitely historic what Tiger did this weekend.

EDIT: http://www.espn.com/golf/story/_/id/10709728/tiger-woods-injury-line. - Tiger's injury history. It's mind boggling that he's even playing golf, let alone being competitive, actually be in contention, and finally win an event.

Look, it’s a great comeback, no doubt. And I get it. He had multiple back surgeries. As a sufferer of minor back issues for most of my adult life, I have great sympathy for anyone that endures even slight back problems. I just get a little tired of the love fest for him, that’s all. He’s a tremendous talent. And I get it. The networks make note $$$ if Tiger is in the news, especially in contention on the weekend.

He's the greatest golfer of all time (2nd at worst). Why wouldn't there be a love fest when it comes to Tiger?

Not only that, he brings media and fan attention like few can in any sport. Only Jordan and Ali come close.

The US got its horsefeathers kicked in today in the afternoon session.

Yeah, that was ugly.

Also, Phil Mickelson needs to just go away.

Yeah he does, he’s just not very good anymore. Let him be a captain and just walk around. Bubba can horsefeathers off too. I would’ve liked to see some combination of Kuchar, ZJ, Woodland, or Berger over those two on the team.

Eh. Bubba and Phil are still abount as good as that lot. I feel like there are others that missed that I'd prefer...maybe agree on ZJ.
