Happens next Wednesday. And today the NCAA announces 30 violations against Ole Miss who have one of the top classes in the country.

 

Should be an interesting 5 days.

I don't follow recruiting very closely, but can't remember the last time so much of ND's class was riding on the last few days. Demetris Robertson and Ben Davis are both super-elite talents that are up for grabs, though I guess the scuttlebutt on Davis is he's probably Georgia-bound.

 

One can only hope both are super-impressed by programs with big-ass buses they drive everywhere.

This Ole Miss stuff sounds serious, and yet I can't see their class falling apart this close to NSD. We will see how opportunistic other programs are, but with this being the final weekend of Official Visits, I just can't imagine there being that much movement.

 

It seems like Richt's first class at Miami is going to be a struggle. About to lose a Top 100 CB to Tennessee.

It's actually 32 violations and only 5 involve football, all are secondary violations, and all except one were during Houston Nutt's days. The one on Freeze's watch is the Tunsil thing that has already been dealt with (the 7 game suspension). The rest of the violations are for women's basketball and track. For the past few seasons, Ole Miss knew that the Houston Nutt crap was being investigated and self-sanctioned by having a few less football scholarships.

 

Anyone acting like this is going to destroy Ole Miss' program or this recruiting class is misinformed.

This is good info. Even if it was under Freeze, I doubt the NCAA would do much.

Jeez, just looked and Texas' class is ranked 46th!! Strong has got to go, right? That should be totally unacceptable.

Will probably finish top 10. Only 14 commits with 10-12 coming on NSD. But yeah he has 1 season to prove it beofre Herman is made a nice offer.

I don't think they get there. There are still 7 teams outside the Top 10 who are sitting in much better position, who will add anywhere from 5-8 more players each. I still think they get into the 12-15 range, though.

Don't forget Jeets and Brady.

 

Also Harbaugh wrote an article for The Player's Tribune today about how great Ann Arbor/UM is which I would call very shrewd timing.

Ummm...he was never committed to Ole Miss. Not sure where you got that from.

 

He's from the town I live in. One of the most freakiest athletes you'll ever see. He needs to gain a lot of weight though. He's very scrawny.
