Mike Bradley won player of the tournament despite missing half the games, and actually deserving it is a great example of why Jurg...i'll stop there. I need to let it go.

None of the USMNT European players were involved with the Gold Cup, so they could train and prep for the beginning of their club seasons.

 

That includes Yedlin, Brooks, Cameron, Fab, Pulisic, Wood and Chandler. I think Lichaj was the only Euro player called in, specifically to evaluate his potential going forward.

It earns at worst a spot in a playoff to determine who attends the 2021 Confederations Cup in Qatar, which includes the winners of each federation cup, the winners of the 2018 World cup, and Qatar.

 

EDIT: Forgot that FIFA stripped the Confederations Cup from Qatar, because playing soccer in Qatar is stupid. The next confederations cup will be in TBA Asian country, hopefully some place like Japan or Australia.

I'd actually be all for this move. I don't think he's such a delicate thing that he needs to stay put. Even if the new manager at Dortmund suits him on paper, I think Klopp obviously suits his best interests and I think he'd play a lot, if not be an automatic starter. Liverpool and Dortmund are essentially on the same level and I think Klopp offers some stability for Christian.

- An obvious yellow on Guzman for hacking Nagbe (Guzman later got another deserved yellow on Pulisic)

- An obvious PK(and card) when Waston crushed Altidore from behind on the break
