Unsure what the goal is with this lineup. I mean, I guess if you're set on a 3-5-2 that's a good lineup. Ream & Cam can play from the ground well. Omar has tons of liga mx experience.

 

My only eyebrow is Arriola. I know he's liga mx tested, but I wouldn't pick him. I hope he subs aggressively if it doesn't work unlike his predecessor. Tim Howard is inexplicable.

Arriola seems like a decision by running out of alternatives. Nagbe maybe can't go 90, Clint looked bad 4 days ago and also needs minutes managed, Morris is in crap form, and Altidore is maybe a bit tired plus maybe a poor pairing with Wood? I dunno.

Feel like this is the lineup that best balances defensive shell, breaking up midfield possession, and countering at speed. Bruce doesn't want to get overrun in the midfield and he wants to jailbreak when we force turnovers.

 

I'd prefer to go toe to toe with the best 11, but I'm wrapping my head around it.

 

 

No idea about guzan though. TH is a better distributor, better shot stopper, less prone to gaffes, and plays at altitude.
