Mbappe will eventually get the record but Messi might get there first. Hat trick tonight so he ties the record with 16 career WC goals.

It’s possible that after Messi breaks the record, his record could be broken by Mbappe by the time this tournament is over.

Geez, I had to turn off Switzerland vs Bosnia in the 73rd minute because of a work call.  It was 0-0 at the time.  I missed 5 goals and a red card during those 25ish minutes.

My office is 2 blocks from Seattle Stadium, but more importantly it sits at the intersection where they bring the fan groups into the stadium pregame. Belgium came from the other direction, but this is a video of Egyptian fans walking past my office and turning left 1/2 block past my window. I had no idea they did this, but I am thinking of camping out in my bosses office which is full window at the corner tomorrow. She kinda owes me.

That performance by South Korea was pretty pathetic. It looked like they had no desire to even try to score until like the 85th minute.

The Mexico goal keeper made a couple of S-Tier stops at the end, though

Why did they change the tiebreaker rules to focus on head-to-head results instead of the traditional GD, GA, GF format?  Just wondering if it has something to do with the new format and making ensuring that teams tied for 2nd and 3rd have their H2H decide who automatically advances and who has to be one of the top 8 3rd place teams.

Just makes it more difficult to just look at the table to tell who needs to do what to advance.  Now you have to remember who beat who etc while trying to figure it out.

He's out for today. Pepi starting up top with Balogun, rest of the lineup the same

If they win today, they will lock up the group. Could rest him for next match too and maybe he is healthy for the round of 32.

I assumed it was always H2H as the first tiebreaker but that’s not correct. It should be H2H, even if it’s usually irrelevant because if two teams end up tied, it’s usually because they tied the H2H game.

This is not the case. If Turkey wins today and beats us, they would have the tiebreaker over us (assuming a 2 team tie as opposed to a 3 way tie).

Parents are Greek, so I support Greece and Australia in Internationals. It’s not the best combination if I am hoping for future International success lol.
