In a bar in Boston and they have the Red Sox game on one screen and the pregame show for soccer on all the other screens with the sound on. Pretty amazing, to me at least.

Nottingham Forest wins the Championship League playoff and will be in the Premier League next season. If Horvath stays, that puts another USMNT player in Premier League play.

Horvath even got some burn in the championship game, coming on for the last few minutes due to what I think was an injury to the other keeper

Sheesh!

On one hand, it's nice to have huge teams interested in our young guys. On the other, I don't want them buried or loaned out to crappy teams in crappy leagues. I was listening to an episode of the In Soccer We Trust podcast (Jimmy Conrad, Heath Pearce and Charlie Davies) and they had Erik Palmer-Brown on and he talked about what it was like to go to Man City so young and then when he didn't get the "exceptional young player" designation or whatever and couldn't get a work visa for England, he basically just trained with the reserves and loan guys until they could find a loan spot for him and then talked about the difficulties of going on loan to different teams every year. It was a really good look at the way the system works for these guys if they can't catch on.

Obviously, the training at top flight clubs is better than your average club, but I value actual playing time more, especially at more mid-tier clubs in those big leagues. Clubs like Brighton, Wolves, Crystal Palace, etc. Basically the equivalent of the USMNT in the world scheme. Not a favorite to win it all, but on the right day can beat anyone and should beat up on the lower level teams.

Courtois isn't going anywhere, but West Ham are reported to be interested in Andriy Lunin, so the reserve goalkeeper spot may be open at Real.

When it comes to Gaga, to me anyway, it's all about making sure he's playing first team football by 2025. As long as he's an established starter by the time we start building up to the World Cup, I'm happy. Obviously we want his talent maximized between now and then, but I'm ok with whatever decisions they make, as long as he can get his act together by the time we are hosting the World Cup.

Courtois will still be well in his prime in 2025, so I'm 99% certain Madrid will not be the place to accomplish that, but god knows I'd have a hard time turning them down if I were in his shoes.

It would be ironic good news/bad news for US fans if he goes to Madrid. Good news is that our three keepers play at City, Arsenal, and Madrid. Bad news, they're all 2nd or 3rd string.

Way too much smoke on this one to not be real. I don't know if Tottenham values him that high, but he's obviously on Conte's list.

Crystal Palace want Chris Richards: https://www.bavarianfootballworks.com/2022/5/31/23147855/crystal-palace-bayern-munich-usmnt-defender-chris-richards-sule-upamecano-pavard-hernandez-nianzou

Really looking forward to finding out who the 4th team is in our group over the next couple of days. Hoping for Scotland right? Guessing not Wales.

Big game for both Long and Aaronson. Morocco should be more defensive/countering but at greater than CONCACAF quality, Aaronson hasn't been able to get on the ball as an 8 and will have to today. Long will have to prove he can still defend in space like Berhalter wants(and is at least part of why Brooks was banished).
