Bro there is zero chance Everton is Pulisic‘s next stop.

Dortmund or higher, in terms of club prestige. He makes a ton of money and he’ll have a lot of choices.

I am so pumped to have today’s massive game be during the day and on the weekend.

Honestly I like it. This is a barely legal narrow field. The conditions suck. We need someone to battle and hold up the ball for our dangerous attackers. I would prefer Pefok or Sargent, who do both of those things, but in terms of who Gregg picked, I think this is a good choice. Nothing is really working up front, anyway. Might as well give him a shot.

There's reasons on the merits for all of these, but Miles/Richards at CB, Dest staying in at RB, and Aaronson over Morris tells me that Berhalter wants to be on the front foot, pen them in and trust the CBs(and Antonee) against David/Larin/Buchanan on the break. Given the talent advantage in the midfield and the conditions I get it, but it also means I'm probably gonna have to hold my breath at a Canada counter several times per half.

We completely suffocated them and forced them to goon it up(Vittoria could've gotten 3 yellows just himself) to avoid being overrun, and we're down thanks to 4 consecutive bad/unlucky things happening in 10 seconds. Frustrating.

Still in good shape but anything less than 3 points against Honduras would be a complete disaster and make that final window even more daunting.

I want to see Jordan Morris in the second half. Move Christian to the right.

yes, see if CP can get involved with Dest . . . the front line has been terrible and the backline scares me. Dominant midfield but they need more from Pulisic. How many shots did they even record for all their dominance? Seems like every attack ends with a hopeful ball to the middle of the box. frustrating game.

1 goal in 2 matches this window is horsefeathers. Even if they make the WC I’d be in favor of replacing Gregg

13 goals in 10 qualifying matches is awful. Not like it’s some issue just in this window. We can’t score with any consistency.

Entering today only Canada had more and it was 15. There's plenty of things to improve but playing bunkered teams on horrible fields with refs that require broken bones to give cards is gonna be a fairly low scoring environment as a baseline.

naw, these are weak excuses. The US attack is poor.

I mean it's a pretty factual reality, only 19 of 37 games in the Octagonal featured a team scoring more than 1 goal, with Canada having 5, The US 4, and Mexico 4. The third games in windows have had a 2 goal team in 6 of 8 games while first and second matches are 13 of 29. There is a lot that the US can look inwards about, whether it's about individuals(availability w/ Reyna/Weah/Pulisic, form with the strikers and Pulisic) or structure(tactical choices slowing things down, not choosing Brooks, Adams' lack of passing range at the 6), but we should also be mindful of the environment that suppresses scoring.

Canada is talented, but not deep enough to confuse their vision with options. They have a much more consistent 11 because of this, and are more organized and consistent.

They’re essentially the 2002-2010 USMNT.
