I started reading Das Reboot and one bit was about Thomas Muller. Apparently, the one year Jurgen was the Bayern coach, he didn't like Muller, who was only 19. Jurgen only gave him 5 appearances with the top club and Muller spent the whole year with the reserve team. Muller said that Jurgen told him he could look for a transfer and that he had no place in the squad. He probably would have left but somebody else vetoed that. Van Gaal came in the next year, played Muller and he scored 19 goals each of the next two years.

I'm sure Jurgen wasn't the only one to overlook Muller but it's still funny to think that Jurgen had no use for a guy who would have 10 World Cup goals before he turned 25.

When Jurgen coached Bayern, his formation was essentially:

He had Lahm, DiMichelis and Lucio in the backline. Ze Roberto in the midfield and then essentially a blob of Ribery, Toni, Klose, Muller, Donovan and a dozen other occupying an attacking blob up front with no link play. Before he was even in the US picture I remember being like, this dude is a disaster.

Second yellow was deserved. The first one seemed a bit harsh but the announcers made it sound like he had a few fouls and it was for accumulation (I didn't watch the whole thing). The second one Giroud is past him and Simpson just grabs him without trying to make a play on the ball with the intention of stopping play. Seemed like a pretty clear yellow to me and Simpson should be smarter than that. You're already on a yellow so you probably shouldn't pull another dude down without even trying to play the ball.

Was really hoping that thing would end in a draw. Oh well. For sure Spurs won't drop points on Leicester and ManU.

And that was a dumb foul at the end. No Arsenal player was getting to that header, the Leicester player wasn't going to beat Monreal to the ball. And it cost them the game.

So basically a couple dumb fouls cost them the game.

That second yellow was a foul, but never near a second yellow. An actual ref pulls him aside and gives him a warning but to change the game for something that Ricky tack is nonsense. In the first 10 minutes of the second half Atkinson gave LCFC 4 yellows including the two to Simpson, and denied Mahrez a PK that might have been a clearer PK than Vardy's. I hate it when officials make themselves the story.

I don't disagree on Wasilewski's foul at the end. That was a dumb, dumb foul.

Unrelated: Kolo Toure is kind of fat. It looks like Liverpool let a 40 year old fan play CB for them.

I thought Vardys was worse than Mahrez. Looked was more like Mahrez dove to me. Neither one was clear cut so giving them one of the two seems fair to me.

The Fire traded Shipp to Montreal for some magic beans.

Worst organization in the league, except maaaaaybe Colorado. Homegrown, local player who loves playing here? Better trade him.

Storylines of Leicester and Arsenal/Spurs for the title would be really great.

What a day. I was dreaming of a win but hoping for a tie. Outside of Arsenal not getting that goal at the end, this couldn't have been a better weekend. Spurs now 10 points clear of ManU.

City against the current top-8: 1W, 3T, 6L. The one win was home to Southampton. They've now lost at home to Leicester, Spurs, West Ham and Liverpool.

Manchester United are really, really bad. They've spent so much money and are currently losing to a team with one vowel and 22 consonants in its name.

Argentina/Panama and a US match is pretty good, even if Jamaica/Venezuela is a bust. Up here we have Haiti/Peru and Argentina/Bolivia

I got the suite of tickets when they went up and was hoping to see Uruguay get into the non us non Argentina game.
