Watching the final B&B show on Facebook...man, Terry's left side of his face looks rough.

What exactly is his ailment? Have they ever said?

I assumed oral cancer, just the way he's been talking.

I thought the last show was January 5th?

That's Terry's last show. Dan won't be there, due to various vacations and live sporting events and stuff.

Last B&B is today. Many of the Score guys go on vacation between Xmas and new years so they decided to end it now. Dan will host solo a few days next week and there will be guest hosts other guys. The show on the 5th is Terry doing the show solo with a bunch of guests including Dan.

I think it was said the other day that Dan will be there, but not co-hosting the show he'll be one of the 25+ guests scheduled to appear.

B&B hasn't been as great lately but I've always liked the show despite its flaws. Probably the only radio show I will ever be sad to see go off the air.

I really hope he makes it, but it seems like when these things happen, the guys pass pretty quickly.

Edit: The picture is not important, posting for the news that Holly is leaving to work for the Marlins broadcast team.

Good god. He might as well be the poster boy for my anti-shorts crusade.

I started listening to Boers & Bernstein while painting houses in college in the summer of 2002 and have been a listener ever since. I will be a little sad that the show is off the air, but I'm not sure whether I will really miss it. I don't know whether the quality of the show has gone downhill, or I have just grown tired of their act, or some combination of the two, but I don't listen nearly as often now as I once did. Hopefully the Score will pair Bernstein with someone who will keep him in check and isn't afraid to disagree with him, but more importantly I hope Terry can stick around for awhile and enjoy some time in retirement.

From reading the posters opinions on Chicagofanatics board they seem to believe that Dan has gotten more self-righteous (which is funny because of his suspension for objectifying women online) and insufferable over time as he's gained power within the station. At the same time they believe Terry has been checked out for several years and stopped challenging Dan on his opinions and just goes along with anything he says.

I think that ever since Goff left his producer role and went to Atlanta, that's when the show started to go downhill. That was right around the same time as the daily Penn State shows/concussion shows/etc. Boers totally mailed it in the last few years by just agreeing with everything Bernstein said and not really offering anything of substance. Ultimately, it was a combination of a lot of things adding up which led to the show to get progressively worse.

Prior to that, though, the show was great. And by great, I mean better than 95% of the crap that constitutes sports radio. Even when I was in college, I made sure to stream it as often as I could.

And if Abbatacola is the guy replacing Boers...lol.

He will challenge Dan on his opinions, but he will find the dumbest most pointless things to challenge him on. It would be quite annoying.

I was a very loyal listener to B&B during my time in Chicago. Got a few emails read for various things (Who You Crappin', etc.)

It's good to have that sort of show on Sports radio. We have one here in Columbus that is of the same design; doesn't take itself seriously, makes fun of the dumb people that need made fun of, but is still passionate about sports. Also, the main host is from Chicago (and is a Bears, White Sox, Bulls fan) so I get some of the Bears anger/disappointment through him.

Listening to the final show now. B&B were the lifeline that got me through really dull jobs for the past 5 years that also graciously allowed me to listen to the radio. Hope Boers can enjoy sometime in retirement but it doesn't sound good.

Bernstein definitely needs a strong personality that can keep him in check for the show to be listenable, we shall see.

He's a moron. It would basically be the one choice of host that would make me stop listening to Bernstein's show. I'd even rather listen to Rozner.

Worse FS1 show: Skip and Shannon, or Cowhwerd and Whitlock?

What, Jay Mariotti wasn't available?

Wow, hadn't thought about that guy in awhile. Looked and he has less than 6k twitter followers. That's an amazing fall.

Rozner is unlistenable. The Score needs a guy who will continue to play Tonto to Dan. This means encouraging snarky behavior and egging him on.

I know Holmes isn't well-received here but he's probably the best fit next to Dan. He's smarter than the other choices and is blocked by constant athletic events in the evening. I'm waiting for it to be some bad former athlete. Olin Kruetz come on down.

Ugh, the worst. Beanie Wells co-hosts one of our local ESPNRadio shows and he's awful. Bobby Carpenter is on another, and he's gotten better, but started off really bad. Craig Krenzel fills in on the afternoon drive show now and then

Kreutz really isn't bad at all and he brings real insight into football, and not just the tertiary insight Mannelly brought.

Holmes is good, but he's too nice and doesn't have the sense of humor Terry has. He's the straight man. Terry is super goofy and just fit with Dan well. I'd like to see Holmes get paired with Goff at some point, they used to do some great stuff.

I can see McNeil lobbying for the job, but again, he's not Terry, and he could undermine Bernstein. I remember him defending North when Bernstein was going after him during a shift change.

I can't imagine them going with McNeil again especially with Bernstein. Goff and Holmes was my favorite combo at the score. They need to give Len an off-season show.
