Jason Whitlock bringing the scorching hot take on Kobe Bryant

http://www.sportingnews.com/nba-news/4702099-jason-whitlock-rant-espn-kobe-bryant-lakers

That's terrible, I mean yeah the last few years the Lakers probably haven't been able to completely go in a direction they wanted to as an organization but they've had two top 10 lotto picks (including #2 overall) and a likely top 3 pick this year by letting Kobe remain the alpha dog. It's not like Kobe has left a barren wasteland in his departure by forcing them to trade young players/picks for guys to win with. If the Lakers hit on the pick this year they could be back to a perennial, competent, winning, playoff team in the next 2 years. Also 5 rings in 20 years isn't too bad either.

Sulley wants more Cubs

I was bored and wanted to hear more cobs, so what? they said they'd talk north side and south side, but end up discussing Adam Eaton again, for the 20th time that day.

That video is sad. I know celebrities get stupid horsefeathers tweeted at them all the time but I guess I didn't realize how bad some of it was.

And a big part of the response is, 'yeah well men get bad stuff said to them to, why don't you make that video', or 'if you can't take it get another job'.

Little boys are terrible.

Julie DiCaro certainly does not deserve that treatment (nobody does - and let me be clear that I'm not saying otherwise) but she is not good at her job. It seems like the only team she cares about or pays attention to is the Cubs.

Like, who, at this point, still pronounces Robbie Gould as "Robbie Goold?" That was a thing over 10 years ago. Is it weird that this bothers me? It's just bizarre. She's worked at two sports radio stations and she consistently mispronounces that name.

I've heard her butcher a bunch of Blackhawks names too.

She isn't bad when talking about the Cubs, though. I've heard her on weekends. She has some meatbally baseball views (i.e. thinks Hector Rondon is shaky) but so do basically all those reporters.

It is Robbie Goold.

And what is her job?

Does she have a typical female Chicago accent? Because Chicagoans in general and especially female Chicagoans really mispronounce everything.

She's the update reporter on the Score and I believe she has a weekend hosting gig. Or at least she fills in from time to time.

I think she's originally from the Rockford area, but don't quote me on that.

The most notable thing about Julie DiCaro is when she unprofessionally went off on the media reporter for breaking the news that (the doomed to fail from the start) "The Game" radio station was closing.

She started out as a local blogger, then got hired by The Game as an update anchor....and then the Score after that.

I don't have the problems with her that David does. Plenty of the sports radio guys mispronounce names..or just say flat our wrong stuff. Jason Goff and Spiegel spent a full segment the other day talking about how Mike Milbury thought that Blues should bench the goalie, until listeners told them it was actually Keith Jones that said it.

I mean, that's hockey. :-" (Yes, I realize my dig is especially dumb looking after I just called her out for mispronouncing Hawks names).

And Robbie Gould has been around long enough and is on, by far, the most covered team in town. Not knowing how to pronounce it at this point when you're on a sports radio station is pretty egregious IMO.

He's just a horsefeathering kicker but he is one of the longest tenured players at one of the most visible positions on the most heavily covered team in town. The only way you don't know how his name is pronounced at this point if you're in Chicago is if you just don't pay attention to football.

But Robbie Goold is the correct pronunciation.

There are sports writers/hosts in this town that still say Urlacher like "locker".
