That is a strikingly similar comp seeing those 2 GIFS matched up

Actually, I disagree that they are that similar. Both are examples of curveballs, but I would say the one thrown by Carrasco is better. The one Lange throws actually has a "hump" to it -- ball traveling up before breaking down -- which sometimes tips off the pitch to the batter and allows them to adjust to it.

The one thrown by Carrasco is a downer-curveball that is thrown very hard (88 mph) and breaks straight down. More of a slider than a true curveball. Reminds me of Mark Prior's curveball from back in the day.

I would say Carrasco's CB is superior to Lange's for the two CBs shown here. Lange does have a great CB and will be really effective when he can command it.

I’m just saying mechanics wise, not stuff or projection wise

Oh okay. Yeah, the mechanics are very similar.

They don't have the prettiest deliveries lol. Hopefully, Lange can avoid injuries with that delivery.

Second time in three years the top pitching prospect in baseball has been suspended for weed (Reyes in 2016):

So dumb they even bother testing, and made worse that they only test minor leaguers.

It’s a really dumb rule and stupid they test minor leaguers and not major leaguers but it’s also dumb guys keep breaking it if they know the rules don’t do it.

What rule is dumb? That they test for anything at all? Or for some particular thing(s) that are on the banned list and perhaps shouldn't be?

I don’t think they should test for weed. But yes the really dumb rule is there’s a double standard with minor and major league testing. If he was on the Astros 25-man he wouldn’t have been tested and thus not suspended. Like I said the players carry blame too for breaking a known rule, no matter how dumb it is.

Can confirm @Buster_ESPN report. Forrest Whitley suspended for 50 games. Source tells me Whitley was at an out of state college baseball game as a fan after his season was over and was given an unknown stimulant by a friend in order to help keep him awake on his long drive home

I read on another forum that his defense is his friend gave him something to stay awake on a long car ride. You sure it's for weed?

Yeah, you're right. There was no mention of "drug of abuse" in the press release like there normally is when it's weed.

More necessary predictions and a little backtracking:

- Even then I should just go with Forrest Whitley, always forget that guy due to some tunnel vision.

- hopefully Honeywell just off the top

Whitley is suspended for 50 games (as discussed in this thread) and Honeywell is having TJ (as discussed in literally the post right above yours)

Has Mickey Moniak had the most precipitous fall from grace for a #1 overall pick in history? 1 draft removed and BA dropped him out of the top 100 and I believe MLB has him in the 80s somewhere. He had a laughably awful year last year.

At least Taylor had a good reason and was pretty good pre-injury.

I mean you've heard of Mark Appel right? He was taken #1 right ahead of KB lol.

I'm not that high on Mickey Moniak, but he should reach the big leagues. He might end up being their version of Albert Almora.

Appel at least hung onto lists for several seasons. Agreed on the comp.

Aiken has had a precipitous fall too. Struggling to hit 90 in A-ball.
