This is inaccurate - shows two home games with Vikings. Week 17 should be an away if game if I'm not mistaken?

I took it from the Bears Facebook page, so....

Each of the ESPN NFL National bloggers for the individual teams picked W/L for each of their team's games. The Bears guy, Jeff Dickerson picked the Bears at 9-7. But if you go to other team's individual predictions, collectively they have the Bears at 4-12.

Basically almost everyone sees the Bears as a free win. The only 4 predicted wins were from the Washington blogger, the Tennessee blogger, the Detroit blogger (for the game in Chicago) and the SF blogger.

The comments are even funnier. The Eagles blogger said about the game "The Eagles made significant changes, while the Bears did not and that's bad news for the Bears on MNF". The Giants blogger said "The last time the Bears played the Giants in NY, Cutler was rushed relentlessly and didn't answer the bell for the 2nd half. Expect a similar result this time" (nevermind that this was 6 seasons ago).

Blah blah typical UM caring what other people say about his teams. I just really see next years Bears team as the team that finishes like 10-6 or 11-5 and everyone is like 'holy crap I never expected this to happen". Many of the pieces are in place: 2nd year under Fox and staff which in his history has always seen vast improvement, the previous years Bears were sneakily pretty decent and could have easily won 8-9 games, smart yet mostly unhearlded FA signings to improve significant weaknesses, going from one of the top 3 hardest schedules in the league to one of the top 3 easiest schedules, essentially having 2 first round picks next year with White.

Reminds me a bit of the 2006 season when the Bears came in something like 6-1. It was a night game and the Giants were favored by like 7 or 8 points. Incredibly easy money on that one. Obviously this team doesn't look to have anywhere close to the defense that Bears team had. And they don't have Devin Hester to return a 55 yard field goal for a touchdown.

At least the Bears won't go 0-16. They've got a game against the Texans, the NFL's worst franchise.

Too bad the Texans have the Bears number. They've played 3 times:

-2004 killed the myth of Bear weather in a shutout win that killed what tiny bit of playoff hope they had left

-2008 beat the Bears in week 17 to eliminate them from playoff contention

-2012 beat the 7-1 Bears, sending them into a death spiral that ended with us missing the playoffs, getting lovie canned and giving us the Marc Trestman era

I less want to make fun of you for caring what others say and more for possibly having figured out what the cumulative bears record was based on the other teams' bloggers' individual team predictions. Please tell me you did that.

Oh I totally did and I'm not ashamed. I have a boring job. You can thank ESPN for having the never ending scroll of articles.

Tony Pauline is told the Bears are “seriously considering” Alabama DL Jarran Reed with the No. 11 overall pick.

Interesting. Depending on how the top 10 goes down, there could easily be a dozen guys worth consideration at 11. This draft flattens out quickly. But the depth, particularly on DL is nice.

I would love to have him. Is our cap set up well enough that we can safely allot the amount of money he will receive and not screw ourselves over in the future?

It's the NFL, you usually can't screw yourself over too badly. It takes years of bad deals usually. We remain pretty flexible.

I don't really like big money to CB's, especially ones that just burst into the scene. But we have cash and if we can structure a large portion of the hit upfront, I'd say go for it.
