I can never root for a better draft pick even if I know it's the best thing long term. I enjoyed this one and really wish we won at least 1 of the Min/Det games if not both. Could you imagine being 5-3, tied with Minnesota for 2nd and a game behind the Packers.

PS Jay is bringing it this year.

The Bears are probably going to win tonight because the Chargers are probably a little more injured than they are and just as bad at football. And also, because a loss puts the Bears in a tie for the 3rd worst record in the league and a really good draft spot.

Yep. Just like I figured. NFL purgatory again. Rams, Broncos, and Packers next 3, but then the Bears finish with 4 of 5 against teams they're at least as good as (Skins, Lions, Bucs, Niners). Could be an 8-8 season or if they get one of the next 3 or Minnesota later, 9-7, which still wouldn't be enough for a playoff spot....because the Bears have 0 NFC wins so far.

I can't root against my team. And I'm very happy they won last night (went to bed at halftime). But the last 2 years, the Bears have seen Aaron Donald and Leonard Williams go in each of the picks before them. I think the difference between picking in the top 8 and picking between 9-14 is big this year.

Looking at the Bears schedule, it would be pretty hard to tank effectively enough to get a better pick. Assuming they won't beat Denver or win at GB, the rest of the schedule are winnable games.

at St Louis

vs SF

VS Washington

at Minn

at Tampa

vs Detroit

They could finish 8-8 or 9-7

NFL Purgatory? Come on raw, this isn't the NBA. I won't argue that higher picks aren't better, but it's not gonna be the deciding factor on if they are ultimately successful in rebuilding.

Yup, they need like 6 better bodies on defense and multiple lineman, 5-6 pick differential isn't deciding the outcome. Nfl teams can win without ever picking top 5.

Raw, these guys are pretty decent. They play hard and are usually in the right spot. Theyve gotten severely unlucky, multiple things and bad calls had to go wrong in order for them to lose the last two games. They are a below average team with an above average qb.

I'll always love Forte but considering Langford is fun and has a future on this team, I kind of hope the former doesn't come back so soon.

Langford is fast and hits holes.
