Mike Patrick just expressed disbelief that the #7 team in the nation has no first place votes.

Then as Michigan State threw a touchdown pass, he called it an interception and started to explain how great of a play the CB made. The same CB that got beat pretty easily for the touchdown.

He is soooooo terrible.

The color guy was just as ridiculous. "Boy, I'm just not convinced MSU is the best team in the country." With whom are you arguing that point?

That was hilarious. I don't know what was worse, the fact that he kept going on about the great play the IU CB made as MSU was celebrating and the scoreboard is changing on the screen. Or the fact that it's not like it was even a close play situation. The CB was beat by 5 yards on an 11 yard TD pass.

I used to think he was OK back in the day. I don't know if he's gotten too old for the job, or if he always sounded OK because he was paired with the ridiculousness of Dick Vitale or other loud color guys.

Couple good ones right now. Tennessee up 1 on Bama with 5:49 left and Michigan State only up 2 against Indiana at the end of the third.

He's always been pretty bad, but he has gotten to the point of being ridiculous himself. Indiana scores a TD with 9:45 left in the 3rd to cut the score to 28-26 and he says "now you HAVE to go for 2 don't you?"

So frustrating to see every team that has a chance against Alabama late do everything they possibly can to [expletive] it up

Yeah Patrick sucks.

IU gave it a good effort but as usual, never enough. Also gotta love the kicker missing two PAT's and a Field Goal.

At some point, moral victories are not enough. This is a familiar formula of hanging with a team and then not able to close it out. Obviously, you don't expect them to beat Ohio St or Michigan St, but they shouldn't have the same issues vs. Rutgers. 4-0 to 4-4, still need 2 wins for a bowl game.

Holy [expletive] Georgia Tech just beat Florida State on a blocked field goal that they returned for a TD with no time left on the clock. Edited by soccer10k

Just need FSU to beat Clemson now and the ACC is out (and ND's chances improve from "on life support" to just minimal).

I don't think it will happen, but I'm rooting for the scenario where Memphis and Ole Miss both win out. That would be a fascinating discussion if a 2 loss Ole Miss team wins the SEC championship, you have either a 1 loss Alabama team or a 1 loss LSU team that doesn't make the championship game, and then an undefeated Memphis sitting there with the victory over Ole Miss.

LSU is an enigma to me. In every game, they look sloppy at some point, yet they keep winning. The defense for the most part looks good and all they need from the QB is enough decent play to create room for Fournette who is the best player in football. But the end of the season schedule is brutal.

True, but they show flashes that they are really about to gel as Harris starts to look better. I still think that if LSU can play to their potential that they're right there with the best teams in the country. They'll beat Bama, IMO.

You know when you're playing Madden and you can't get anything going on run plays or short passes, so you resort to just calling the "All Streaks" play and chucking it down field? That was Penn State's offense yesterday. Hackenberg completed just 44% of his passes, but averaged 24 yards per completion with 3 TD's.

Happy for the win, but squeaking by a pitiful Maryland team doesn't fill me with confidence heading into the final 4 games

Better than the 1-19 stretch Kyle Allen had throwing last night.

There are a few teams like that this year. MSU, FSU until this week, Bama (though they have a loss). Weird season overall.

So current playoff teams would be OSU, MSU, LSU and Baylor?

MSU shouldn't be anywhere near the playoff. Clemson instead of them.

I'd forgotten about Clemson. Good call
