Who cares? Just win games and stay healthy.

clinching with a win is way more fun

Not that this really means anything, since both great and horrible teams can strikeout a lot, but the 2015 Cubs have the 3rd highest team strikeout rate since 1969, at 24.4%.

Especially because the Giants game will end 7 hours from now. In 2007 we didn't clinch with a win but everyone was still in the clubhouse so we got to see celebrations. I want my "Jacque Jones wearing goggles" moment with this team and not some stupid "pretend like we clinched the next time we win" type of celebration.

Also, blaming Strop for the loss because of a strikeout is about the stupidest thing I ever heard.

He needs to strike out batters less wildly

If that meant anything, then the Cubs wouldn't be fifth in the NL in runs scored. It's a byproduct of what this team is. We take a lot of pitches, work deep counts, and try to hit the ball really hard. We are gonna strike out. Strikeouts are bad because they are outs. But, they aren't a signal that a team is bad. This team might lead the world in strikeouts next year and score more runs than any other team. It's just who we are. And, if you haven't noticed that we are still 25 games over .500, we are pretty freaking good.

i gotta say as fake rallies go, this team hasn't subjected me to it with as much emotional swings as some previous cubs teams. this team just wins without much drama most of the time, which is nice

Don't we lead the world in walkoffs and have a bunch of one run wins

Don't let your stats stand in the way of anecdotal raging.

Scored a last minute free ticket to today's game. Sat next to a couple who had this exchange:

Woman: Oh, Ramirez has 17 home runs this year. That's pretty good at this point in his career.

Man: And yet, he's still hitting .251. Couldn't crack .260 when he was here either.

Ugggghhhh.

We'll ultimately be eliminated from the playoffs because someone will K in a big spot. :(

Please don't jump on t his guy. I think we're all a little peeved right now after seeing this [expletive] all season.

I agree. His posts are [expletive] terrible and I certainly am tired of seeing them.

Hmm that's s bit concerning

Two great pitchers are going to meet and someone is going to flinch. Just hoping for a solid game and not something stupid.
