That seems like an ill advised send. Bryant isn't high contact, Cole likely to go with a big fastball that makes Schwarber even more dead on the bases than normal.

Can't think of a worst spot to send Schwarber. At least 60% of the time, Bryant is either going to K or walk there. Of the other 40%, most of that is homerun.

Also, ugh. We had a good chance to drive Cole over 20 pitches in the first with Rizzo batting. That was such a horrible send. Bryant doesn't hit for high contact and Schwarber doesn't have the best speed. Would like to know what Maddon was thinking there.

He was thinking how we're on a pace for 99 GIDPs this year. We've been averaging about 127 GIDPs per year over the last 9 seasons.
