Would be nice to see Hammel put together a string of solid starts as we come down the stretch here. Have to imagine he's gonna be the #3 starter (though he'd start the 2nd game of the DS) in the playoffs.

lefties with a .881 OPS vs. Peralta, looks like it's gonna be a TLS day!

I pledged to the baseball gods that I would never badmouth La Stella again if he got a run in with the bases loaded yesterday.

Those same baseball gods then turned around and crushed a bases loaded, no outs opportunity to tie the game.

Do I really owe them anything?

If they have any relation to the football god and Russell Wilson is to believe, yes as it's a test of your faith for a much greater reward down the road

I can get on board with this lineup.

Edit: Interesting no TLS despite Peralta's not good numbers against lefties.

Good lineup

Would love to see Schwarbs get out of his slump .151/.274/.377/.652 in his last 15 games and .197/.321/.465/.786 his last 46 (yes .786 OPS hardly qualifies as a slump, but I'd like to see him get his overall average/OBP up)

Bryant on the other hand...after seeing his season OPS drop to .788 on August 1st, has hit .333/.404/.609/1.023 in his last 45 games. Stud!

Do they have reservations about sending Arrieta out against the Pirates twice leading up to the likely wild card matchup?

I would much prefer Arrieta not face the Pirates again. That said, if the argument for him facing them is that skipping him once would mess up his command/mojo, I would listen to that.

umfan absolutely loves him some arbitrary endpoints and slumps and hot streaks and whatnot

Bruce is saying the same thing, he just skipped past the fact that Arrieta is also pitching tomorrow.

I don't think you get it. I am not trying to hide any of what you are saying. I thought the above post made this clear.
