Is it meatballish to not want to see Strop today? Just give me Grimm and Rondon.

Let Lester go 120+ if that's what it takes to get through 8, imo

Yep. Extra day off before his next start. If he gets thru 7 easy, he's starting the 8th if I'm the manager.

I disagree. This race could come down to the wire -- I'd rather not see Cards see Lester one time too many before that, with this series already won.

nice starlin

it's kind of funny watching him flinch adorably on inside pitches now that he's standing more on top of the plate

So let's say that is what it took to effectively fix him and he finished out the year looking good. Do they trade him in the offseason?

Who's the numbskull responsible for mentioning McCarver wanting to say Lasorda? Now I'VE got it in my head when LaStella comes to bat!! :-)

maybe?

idk

this would be a much easier call if soler had had a good year this year

i'm not opposed to the 3 SS infield with bryant in a corner but i'm not really ready to give up on soler either

Absolutely. But I have irrational faith in Javy.

I think so. The infield is just too crowded.

I say no, not yet. Plenty of abs to go around and questions to get sorted between Bryant, Castro, Baez and Rusell on the IF and OF (in Bryant's) case. Keep the depth

Yeah, Soler is kinda the real wild card in the whole thing.

Yeah, I have no idea what to do. We have three guys that might be terrible or maybe they are actually good in Soler, Javy and Starlin. And we basically have two open spots to fill them in. Someone's probably got to go. But, I don't know who.

also bryant proving to be a more than competent 3B (plus schwarber's quick ascent) really complicates things in an obviously good way

Yeah, plus I'd like to gamble on him actually being fixed and then they could get more if they opt to trade him late in the season. Yeah, it's a risk, but hey, that's some sexy depth.

To me, Javy has to stay. He can do enough amazing things with the glove, that you can be more patient with the bat.

Schwarber being able to catch even just 50-70 games either helps clear things or clogs things up (if he can't) even more as well
