Johnny Football looks like a competent QB now that he's sobered up.

we have very different ideas of what competent is

He was 4-5 with a long TD pass when I posted that, so he probably did a few lines at halftime.

Does Lovie last the season or canned mid-year?

Yeah, I doubt he completes a 14 loss season after how last season went

Also, Why is Dallas challenging that? They might win, but they'll be out of challenges, and that play was not that big a deal

Why not run the ball on third down? It's not like it's 3rd and 8 where you're simply running the ball solely to burn clock with no intention of picking up the first down/scoring. You're on the 1. And why not go for it on 4th down? I know you make Dallas go for the TD but they also picked up 27 yards of field position, which is a good chunk of the difference between a FG and scoring. If you say Dallas has to get to the 38 for a 55-yard FG, the 27 yards is almost 3/4 of that distance. Plus they have to run at least one play from the endzone and aren't likely to just sneak the ball up the middle to get a little breathing room because they've got no timeouts.

Yeah, I think you have to do one or the other. If you're planning on kicking, you can't let 3rd down be an incomplete pass. Even if it means Manning taking a knee if he doesn't have a wide open throw, you're still in layup range for a FG, and now there's half as much time on the clock for Dallas(who has no timeouts). I'd still probably run it on 3rd down if I was planning on going for it too, because on 4th down you don't have to worry about the clock moving so you can use your oh-so-clever pass play at that point.

Couldn't believe the clock management by the Giants or the Seattle kick to start overtime.

"Rashad Jennings tells ESPN's Dan Graziano he was told not to score on 1st- and 2nd-and-goal on New York's final drive Sunday evening.

The idea being, to drain clock. Only the Giants then made the worst call of the young season, opting to pass on third down. They didn't complete it, and the Cowboys got an extra 40 seconds. Tony Romo promptly marched the Cowboys down the field for the game-winning touchdown after the Giants settled for a field goal. If true, it's a mind-bogglingly bad decision from coach Tom Coughlin, who has seemed increasingly out of his element in recent seasons." Per Rotoworld

BRILLIANT!

BRILLIANT!

This makes no sense to me. They were up 3. Score a TD, go up 10, and who cares what the Cowboys do? Game's over.
