Until guys stop hitting, I think you have to go with Baez at 3rd and Bryant in the OF. Play Coghlan at 2nd/OF every now and then when Schwarber comes back.

i hate to keep harping on the castro thing but it's not like he's been so freakishly hot (obviously an awesome dong tonight) that you have to bench a solid coghlan (vs rhp) in favor of him when schwarbs comes back

In the last 5 weeks he's at .333/.358/.500.

how many PA is that? he's been playing limited time.

before tonight he was around league average in august, very good in sept, and like a 60 wRC+ in the second half

82 going back to the beginning of August and not counting tonight.

Just relax and enjoy it. Good Castro is so much more fun than Coghlan.

i mean i still don't bench cogs for him

It's 80 PA, it's not nothing.

The overriding point here is that you're letting this bit where you're done with Castro override the logic that it is very much in the team's interest to play him when he gets hot. It doesn't mean Castro must play every day, but he's very much a first class citizen in the competition for at bats when he's swinging the bat well. The fact that he's stayed productive for a month when not playing every day is a point in his favor in this regard.

post about how i don't believe hot is a thing and that even though he has hit better (and noticeably so - it's not just babip - i realize he's getting balls in the air and driving them a lot more now) i don't believe that necessarily means he will continue to do so going forward, especially not as mercurial as he's been.

i'm going to just keep doing this

prove me wrong starlin, prove me wrong

Castro is on a one-man "[expletive] you David" mission and I love it.

I do too.

the REAL underlying point is that we have a lot of talented and good [expletive] players and that's pretty awesome

oh and the best possible manager to have that "problem" with

remember last year when soler hit that monstrous HR for his second of the game at busch, and kasper was like "this entire crowd is just saying 'WHAT was that??'"

this is like the full series version of that and this team is that night's soler
