I'm sure this has already been covered, but can someone remind me why Chris Coghlan hits 3rd?

 

I don't understand why people have a big problem with this.

 

Especially now that Austin Jackson and his .767 OPS against lefties can we subbed in when TE opponent tries to play matchups. Previously it was Denofria and his ~.550 OPS against LHP that would hit in the heart of the Cubs order

 

Is there a reason everyone spells his name wrong that I missed?

Well, for one, hitting 3rd doesn't mean what you think it does.

Nevermind, I'll save you the time. All it means to me is that he is going to theoretically come to the plate more often than Rizzo and Bryant.

 

Also, I should mention that I never said I had any problem with it. I simply asked what the logic behind it was, since it is obviously a bit unconventional.
