There's a fangraphs article somewhere that shows he basically started completely selling out for power after leaving the Cubs, for good(HR) and bad(huge jump in Ks, drop in AVG).

How do Rizzo homer swings look so good when his whiff on inside pitch swings look so bad?

 

He swung about 5 minutes late on strike 3 in his first AB and it wasn't even an inside pitch. Then he does that. Crazy.

Yeah, I think I read that article. I don't think he's cheating, just surprised more guys don't go that route.

Yeah, a little over 3 years ago and I'm betting he's been tested a dozen times since and hasn't gotten popped again. He's just taking the Javy Baez approach these days.
