Kinda crazy we thought we had crazy rotation depth going into the year with Jackson/Turner/Wood/Wada and now we are down to this

 

The only crazy part is anyone who actually thought that was decent depth. Basically everything they did to set up for this year from top to bottom was figure everything would be juuuuuuuuuuuuuuussssst good enough, mainly because they money just isn't there.

SSF is going to make them look silly for about 4 innings then the dongs will be out in bunches.

Wood was by no means good, but at least you could count on him to have a plan. It might take 5 or 6 runs to win, but at least he can eat innings. Turner.. We've had our looks on him.. We should have had no reason to believe he would provide anything to the Cubs team this year. If he could have surprised us, great, but the only pitcher some people might have expected anything out of was Wada. Even Wada's stuff wasn't good, but at least he wasn't obviously out of place at the big league level.

I had the option to go to tonight's game or tomorrow. I looked at who was pitching for the Cubs today and that was all I needed.

Perhaps, maybe just perhaps, the Cubs should use Wada who has proven to be a solid 5th starter in his roughly half season of starts.

One trade that would be so tempting, but I don't think I'd pull the trigger on: Soler for Chapman. I bet the Reds would do it, Cubs most likely wouldn't, but damn it'd be tempting.
