Figured I'd start a thread for this since it seems pretty serious. What would you be willing to give up for Tyson Ross, what are your concerns with him?

Just looking at the stats and the contract (2.5 years of control left), I'd happily give up anyone in the system for him. But man, his UCL is just begging to be torn. Even factoring in the sliders, I'd give up anyone for him. I'd wince slightly if Torres were included, but I'd get over it.

Don't like it. The best I'd offer would be McKinney or Zagunis and 1-2 of the pitchers (PJ, CJ, Tseng, Underwood, etc).

I think there's a not so small chance that Ross + Bosio = another Arrieta

 

I think Ross's injury risk here is probably overstated, or at the least, over-generalized. I need a bit more specifics than sliders = crisis alert when all pitchers are dead men walking.

 

I think the biggest issue with Ross is his inability to throw strikes, it's not a deal breaker but if you're forking over significant assets it's a concern.

 

I have no idea what it would require to get Ross. Presumably any package would start with Lake, Szczur, and Almora.

I'm a huge Ross fan and I'm on board with most of this. I think that package is really underestimating the cost, however.

 

I'd lovelovelove to see what he'd do here with Bosio and I am also not going to worry that hard about the curve % and injury probability.

I'd honestly go

 

1.) Ross - Just a huge fan, and far more big league success than CC

2.) Teheran - 4 years of youth on the other two, I expect him to turn things around

3.) Carrasco - Still very intriguing and I am certainly a fan, but see above

I like Tyson Ross a lot. I like the 2 additional years of control. I like the velocity, Ks, arm talent. I love the undoubted improvement he will show with Bosio in throwing more strikes. But I don't like the thought of trading McKinney AND Torres. Give them 1 and pretty much anything else in the minors they want besides the other (I'd prefer to keep Torres).
