I could go for a dumpster dive for old time's sake. Beachy's 28, and was looking to be a hell of a pitcher once upon a time. And Morse could offer some lightning in a bottle, something we could really use.

Heyman adds that the medicals in this deal have already been approved, so Gomez’s hip is clearly not a concern for the Astros.

 

Phillips looks pretty good. The rest of the package isn't particularly inspiring though.

i don't really like Fiers too much, but i'd still have been pretty happy with that deal (but i can also see a team scouting Phillips's tools much more favorably than McKinney's and preferring his upside)

 

Domingo Santana has been kind of a beast. At 21 in 2014 he had a .296/.384/.474/.858 slash in AAA with 16 homers and 64 walks. That's pretty impressive. He's followed it up this year by having a .320/.426/.582/1.008 with 16 homers and 48 walks in 45 fewer games thus far. I'm guessing his defense is suspect, but his bat could be legit. Would not be surprised to see him in the Top 50 next season if he retains prospect status. He was #71 headed into this season and he's been even better than he was last year.

Mella wasn't on the Schwarber/Torres/McKinney level, though. He's a really good prospect doing well in High A and the Reds got a good arm, but this wasn't a fleecing.
