Wada is also close to ready, he started for Iowa last night.

Unless I'm misunderstanding the DFA rules, they could just pull Richard back to the main roster if they so desire within 10 days.

Regardless

 

Being able to stash a guy on DFA status and pull him back without consequence would seemingly go against the whole point of having roster rules.

It's rare that a player is DFAd without using it to replace him on the 40 man roster. The only situation where they wouldn't would be for a waste of space vet like Richard.

They may not have had the option of sending Richard down. He had an option that required him to be offered to every team on a certain date if he wasn't already in the majors or wasn't being brought up. The contract could call for that again or something before being able to send him back down.

Eh. The deadline's, what, 9 days away? He'll have maybe 1 more start. And if he's that bad today, then they could just give Wada his next one and go from there.

So this is the backup plan if Theo cant make a trade? Really Theo you didnt learn before!? The other teams must know the cubs are in desperate mode and aren't willing to trade unless they can fleece the cubs..collusion?!? Theo might just be saying "[expletive] that dudes your not raping me"
