Every time we play this team is a good reminder of why I don't watch STL against anyone else. Might have to extend that to our games with them as well

random memory: remember when kyle spent an offseason trying to root for another team lol

the cardinals

after 2008

and when we gave him too much [expletive] for it, he sent me a PM asking why i was giving him so much [expletive]. i guess he has much thicker skin now.

it was so quick and simple. they cut in, the crowd stands up, and he immediately wins the game.

2 Hour rain delay followed by the Cubs tying the game, going to 19 innings and losing 3-2 on a bases loaded balk with 2 outs.

Stop

Pirates put the crap frosting on the cupcake with a 2 out win. Oh, well, we will go to Pittsburgh and win the m

one game playoff game if we need to.

Do we want that? We could probably get a prospect haul for Fowler, Hammel, Motte and Montero.

somebody figure out what the cubs record is going to have to be in the remaining games in order to get to 88 wins if we lose every game left against the cardinals

I'm with Kyle; I don't really care about the Cardinals OR the Pirates. Just get in, but preferably clinch early enough so Arrieta can pitch in the WC game.

44-28, .611 winning percentage

current record against non-cardinals teams is 42-29, .591

The Cubs have an extremely good infield - at least I tell myself that and then I look at the Cardinals and I don't see great, but I see consistency. At 2nd base, Kolton Wong is one hell of a good little player - seems to do all the little things right (except getting picked off in playoff games), Peralta - I don't know how many shortstops are better than this guy - he's so damn just "above-average" on both sides of the ball. He annoys me because of how solid he is. Matt Carpenter is just a stud. He's always on base, he's got decent pop and gives you a great AB. Molina - everyone knows about him. They are just consistent. Rizzo is consistent on the Cubs infield, Russell is young and consistently hitting .250, Castro is as streaky as they come and Bryant has been strong on hitting side, but very inconsistent in the field.. The joys of youth.
