i am honestly surprised that the umpire is cool with that. it'd be one thing if it was anthony rizzo or somebody do it, but i'd be horrified that the kid was going to lose the bat and kill somebody.

 

I'm just as surprised at the kid's antics as I am that they have a band playing at a baseball game.

We’re opening this game to everyone that can play. However, if you’re going to come into our country and make our American dollars, you need to respect a game that has been here for over a hundred years, and I think sometimes that can be misconstrued. There are some players that have antics, that have done things over the years that we don’t necessarily agree with.

Baseball was introduced to Japan in the 19th Century and they've had organized play for about 95 years.

 

Baseball was introduced to Cuba in the 19th Century and they've had organized play for almost 140 years.

 

Baseball was introduced to the DR at the tail end of the 19th Century and they've had organized play for over 100 years.

 

But yeah, the game has only "opened up in the last 10-15 years." Bud Norris can go [expletive] himself.
