Meanwhile, the Pirates will never lose another game. Ever.

I'm sure they have games with St. Louis left on the schedule, so I wouldn't worry about that.

Man I [expletive] love Addison Russell

Imagine how awesome he's going to be when he figures out how to hit consistently at this level, which I'm assuming he will do since he's 21 years old.

The WC game is going to be played at PNC yet again. Might as well just accept it.

If that game were next week, we have to start Arrieta against Cole....not Lester. Right?

And they're going to lose it again. Deal with THAT

They're 5-6 since they swept the White Sox.

Don't get too worried about the Pirates.... they still have to play us 9 times.

Go CUBS !!

God, now we are complaining about having to play @ Pittsburgh in the WC game? (which is obviously not a foregone conclusion on several levels)

And now on the brink of sweeping Detroit on the road. 27-11 since May 22.

I'm not sure it would necessarily be a bad thing. Just seems like we're not going to catch them.

Yes...and will be twice as awkward when Hammel starts game 1 against St Louis

we're freaking 2.5 games behind them and they aren't some unbeatable juggernaut.

Everyone is sick of bellyaching about David Ross, but in all seriousness, if we aren't going to start Montero for Lester in the playoffs, we probably should avoid putting Ross in the lineup when possible against RHPs, which means not starting Lester as much. The fact that Lester has been objectively worse than either of Hammel and Arrieta makes that an even easier call.

And the Cubs are on the brink of sweeping the Mets on the road; they're are 6-5 in the same span the Pirates went 5-6. It was a pretty lazy complaint.

The Pirates are a very good team. We can also beat them, though. It very well could be SF too, which actually scares me more with MadBum. I know Cole is a possible Cy Young winner, but a one game playoff against Bumgarner on the road terrifies me. I wish St Louis would come down to Earth and we could actually compete for the division
