Ryan Williams getting promoted from South Bend to start for Tennessee. Not sure if it's a spot start or they're just going to throw him in the deep end at AA given his age and profile.

Also, good job good effort to the photoshop effort here:

Kinda excited to see what Williams can do at AA. Does anyone have a good summary of how his stuff plays?

It was 3/29 last year so he's at 5/66 in his pro career so far.

totally random fact: Joe Musgrove was a 1S selection for Houston last year. He has a 59/1 ratio so far this year in 49 IP.

Spoilers (so far): Not great, Bob.

He was a $1,000 bonus senior sign so while he was too advanced for the MWL, it wouldn't be shocking if he's out of his element at AA.

This was supposed to be Corey Black's spot in the rotation. Too bad there isn't anyone at Myrtle Beach who appears ready for a promotion.

Contreras had an injury scare but appears to be staying in the game.

Williams actually rebounded pretty well from a disastrous 3 run 2nd inning. Finishes with 5.1 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 3 R, 1 BB, 4 K

I realize I'm "Fredding" this thread, but Black in his BP debut on the year threw 2 perfect innings with 3 K's (one of these was Buxton). Edited by ctcf

Sounds like they're prepping him to come up soon.

Up to the Iowa manager when? lol

Don't think it means that much about Soler. Think it means they want Baez up in 8 days and that's where they plan to play him.

I really think Baez or Alcantara get traded in the next 2 months. I just can't see Schwarber being a passable defensive catcher. There just isn't enough space for Baez, Bryant, Schwarber, Soler and Alcantara.

I agree on the first part. I definitely think that if the Cubs do make a win-now move, at least one of those two is going to be going the other way in it.
