awesome.

would've been interesting if he'd caught that. he was in no position to make a strong throw, but bryant had to cheat down the line a little bit in case it dropped or in case gordon fielded it on a hop. guessing bryant would've tagged and tried to score. maybe escobar flips to gordon, who throws home?

I'm fine with sending him because he's our fastest guy and Castro stinks, but you just need a better slide.

Pretty sure Castro could have handled bases loaded and no outs, you bloated avocado.

would've grounded into a home to first double play

Bad pitch. Good hit. Stupid send. Bad throw. Bad slide. Bad call. Bad replays. That play just sucked all around.

Uhhh

I wouldnt call it a stupid send. A decent slide & he beats it easily.

@Cubs: The Chicago Whales beat the Kansas City Packers 2-1 in 11 innings in Game 2 of a doubleheader on this date 100 years ago.

He had a little bobble in the transition which made him rush the throw to a point where Perez had to come back to home. I have seen Gordon throw many guys out at home by a mile and without that bobble (which occurred after the decision had been made to send Fowler) he gets a lot more on that throw and Fowler is out by a mile. In other words, the Cubs got quite a break on that play and he was still out or at least close enough to out that he was called out and it couldn't be overturned. There are no outs. The chances of him being thrown out were pretty high. As much as Castro has been struggling him hitting with 0 outs is >>> than Ross hitting with 1 out. Glad they won, but there is no way a third base coach in MLB should have been testing Gordon in that situation.

I love how hard Rizzo tried to win it...hits a triple in the 9th in a game where a HR is really really tough to hit but is stranded at 3rd. Then in the 11th he's like "here's your game winning hit guys" yet Fowler can't slide properly. In my mind Rizzo won that game.

He went absolutely all out to get to 3rd on that triple too. He's pretty much everything you could ever want from a baseball player.
