Given the nature of his bad season and how he bounced back the next year it was a pretty safe bet that he'd at least be a 2 WAR player this season.

We get it; you've repeatedly made it clear you never thought much of Castro in all those years you didn't follow baseball.

I don't really get worked up about batting order but I have to admit it is annoying seeing Castro come up after Bryzzo.

I agree; his continued presence the 4-spot is baffling. Not that it's news to anyone here, but among qualifying Cubs hitters, Castro ranks as follows:

wOBA: Last (.278)

BB%: Last (3.7%)

LD%: Last (16.4%)

GB%: First (60.3%)

Soft%: First (24%)

He might be the least well-suited position player to bat in that spot. Move him down until he gets right.

This is just so depressing to read. He was someone I think pretty much everyone just assumed would be a lock to be productive.

this is the great irony of those "can't rely too much on unproven prospects" arguments

Too much Maddux talk

Yes... But I must confess as I was watching that inning, I was thinking "Maddux-like ". If Hendricks can locate like that, he's going to be tough to hit.

Picked off first with Harper up? I wouldn't make much eye contact in the dugout after that.

how great is it going to be when castro finishes up the 499 squibs back to the pitcher on balls low and away and pulls the 500th one for a hr
