Artis Gilmore would be a better pick at center, as well. He could at least attempt to defend Kareem.

I mean, he did a pretty good job of it IRL.

Yeah, who would stop Kareem from scoring every single time down the court?

MICHAEL

Reading the posts on the Reddit bulls forum, the people that said the Bulls would win all had a reasoning of 'MJ would pull something out of his ass". I love the Legend of Michael Jordan.

I feel like SSR would be a Sox fan if he didn't grow up in the south side (this is an assumption by me) during their little 90's renaissance.

How the [expletive] else do you become a Celtics fan in Chicago while the 90's Bulls are happening?

The first sports team I remember was the '89 Cubs

85 Bears for me...even though I was only about to turn 3 a month after the SB...I remember playing the hell out of the super bowl shuffle video. and i thought they were giant super humans with huge shoulders.

after that, probably the 89 Cubs, only because i remember my dad and brothers went to a playoff game. i didn't care about baseball or sports for another 6 years.

aside from those two specific memories, i just remember spending lots of early summer nights in the family room while everyone watched the bulls in the playoffs. pat riley was a super villain of some kind in my mind.

The 6-10 Lakers would probably mop up as well

Yeah...no

You're talking Elgin Baylor, James Worthy, Jerry West, umm George Mikan and Michael Cooper or something?

It would be close, saying they would mop up is silly

Artis Gilmore is being underrated and him with Jordan and Pippen is a formidable start verse any team's top 5.

No. The Celtics and Lakers top 5 would beat the Bulls by 90.

good thing you can give your best player the ball every single time in basketball if you want to.

seriously how much does your 4th or 5th best player even matter

Top WS/48 (In a season for that team)

Jordan- 90/91 - .321

Pippen - 95/96 - .209

Gilmore- 80/81- .208

Grant - 91/92 - .237

Rose - 11/12- .211

It really does drop after that and you're left with lots of role players.

Lakers get interesting.

Shaq- 99/00 - .283

Kareem- 76/77 - .283

Magic - 89/90 - .270

Baylor- 60/61 - .227

Kobe- 06/06 - .224

Probably not the most balanced basketball lineup, but a size able 1.287 v 1.186 advantage and a pretty even 1-5. A confortable margin, but not huge. You have some strong options if you wanna balance a bit, like Jerry West (@.261 actually is fourth overall) or Pau Gasol (.232). Even old Wilt was .247 in his last season, but obviously you're at some diminishing returns after Shaq and Kareem.

Boston... Frankly this stat might be undervaluing them, but a cursory glance puts them probably between both but closer to the Bulls, but without the top end of either Bulls or Lakers. They'd also benefit from depth and have options in the 4-7 range.

Overall would be three great series to watch and adding a few other franchises would make it interesting as well.

lol, can't believe this is a serious conversation. This is basically the 90s Bulls are the bestest and they could hang with every franchise's all-time team.

Horace Grant is 5th all time in Win Shares for the Bulls (Kirk Hinrich is 10th!!!)

Joakim Noah is 4th in VORP

Chet Walker is 5th in PER

I find thus coversation is less about overall accolades and franchise legacy. You're gonna put out your best roster for 48 minutes (or even a seven games series), not a 5 year basketball game. Toe to toe at the peaks the talent is close and other teams could put up some great rosters too.

Well yea- any team that can boast a top 5 all time player is gonna put out a nice roster as well, though 14/15 Love (your only choice) is actually a little bit of an underwhelming option, probably.

Das ridiculous. Bird isn't some 60s Celtic that played in a totally different league . He's an all time great and played dominant basketball in a great era of the NBA.
