Noah Syndergaard at Jake Arrieta

Syndergaard will be making his Major League debut. He was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas to take the spot of Dillon Gee (groin injury) in the rotation. Syndergaard was 3-0 with a 1.82 ERA in five starts with Las Vegas.

After posting quality starts in his first four outings, Arrieta hasn't finished the sixth in his last two. The right-hander is 1-2 with a 3.38 ERA in three home starts. He's 0-1 in three starts vs. the Mets.

Will there be dongs?

At least KB had a look at him before.

Lets hope they shake up the rookie on his debut start like Taijuan Walker was roughed up so far!!!

Also of note, Iowa's beat writer says that Wada has been scratched from tonight's start, and he's not hurt. Hmmm

If he's not immediately going to Chicago to join the pen, that would seem to point to him taking Wood's rotation spot, right?

Wood could be a pretty good LOOGY if given the chance. Lefties have a .265 wOBA against him this year and .276 last year despite the overall struggles.

Gonna pick up in Baseball discussions since that fits the news a bit better.

hopefully somebody hired beersoakedivy's mom to knock on skarsgard's door last night and he'll all out of sorts today

She took one for the team....he should be very tired tonight. Pro bono work, my mother is a team player.
