Well, does Wada come back and push Wood to the pen?

Is there any point in holding out for Turner at this point?

But my hunch is that you know who gets the first crack at it if a rotation spot opens up.

There's point in holding out hope, but I don't think he's even gotten back into a throwing routine yet.

I know he wouldn't be up for awhile anyway, but is Pierce Johnson alive?

he's had a sore something or other since the end of spring training, hasn't pitched in MiLB yet this year

edit: strained lat

Way to pitch around it Travis

AGAIN....LFer....#2/3 caliber starter....bullpen arm capable of closing

The back end of the Cubs bullpen isn't the problem

not saying it is necessarily....with this starting staff.....a lead after 6 needs to be a done deal/a wrap...ala the Royals of last year etc...That's IF nothing should happen to Rondon....as always...IMO

coming into this game, the cubs had the third-best starters' FIP in baseball.

What a joke the strike zone is every night.

Yea strike 2 (making it 1-2 instead of 2-1) to Addy was BS....at least it looked up and in.

Yeah lol he's been pretty terrible.

If lately meant his last three PA's, it would be accurate.

But is there any word on if he's throwing at all, or if he's going to be out for awhile?

Castro has looked very good the last couple games in terms of approach. He's been taking the ball to right instead of rolling over everything. It hadn't gotten him a bunch of hits yet, but there's been a pretty marked change, and it's for the better.

I haven't heard anything, I think he fell into the ultra-conservative injury twilight zone that Arodys Vizcaino most famously inhabited.
